Can I really hear the heartbeat at home? (Yes)
That's exactly what it's made for. The high-sensitivity 3.0MHz probe picks up your baby's heartbeat and plays it through the built-in speaker, while the backlit display shows the heart rate in beats per minute.
From how many weeks does it work? (Usually 12–16 weeks)
Most moms get clear results from the second trimester onward. Some hear it earlier, but this varies with body type and your baby's position — if you don't find it right away in early weeks, that's completely normal and not a cause for alarm.
Do I need gel? (Yes — grab the bundle)
Ultrasound gel helps the probe make good contact with your skin, which is what makes the sound clear. Our Complete Listening Set includes a full 250ml bottle so you can start the day it arrives; any water-based ultrasound gel also works.
Is it hard to use? (No — one button)
1) Insert 2 AA batteries and press power. 2) Apply a small amount of gel low on your bump. 3) Glide the probe slowly at a slight angle — small, patient movements work best. The display shows the beats per minute when you find the rhythm. Wipe the probe clean after each use.
How long should I listen for? (Short sessions — up to about 15 minutes)
We recommend keeping sessions brief and occasional — a few minutes is usually all it takes to find the rhythm and enjoy the moment. Think of it as a bonding ritual, not a monitoring routine.
How is baby's heartbeat different from mine? (Much faster: 120–160 bpm)
Your baby's heart beats much faster than yours — typically 120–160 beats per minute, versus your own 60–100. The display readout makes it easy to tell the difference.
Does it replace prenatal appointments? (No — and it shouldn't)
This is a bonding device, not a medical device. It doesn't diagnose anything and never replaces your OB or midwife. If you're ever concerned about your baby's movements or wellbeing, contact your healthcare provider right away rather than relying on a home listening device.
What if I can't find the heartbeat? (Very common — don't panic)
Especially before 16 weeks or when baby is facing away, this happens all the time. Try again later in the day with fresh gel and slower movements. And again: if you ever feel worried, call your provider — that's always the right move.
What batteries does it use? (2× AA — not included)
Any household AA batteries work. Shipping regulations make batteries difficult to include in the box.
Can I listen privately with headphones? (Yes — 3.5mm jack)
There's a standard headphone jack for private listening, alongside the built-in speaker for sharing the moment out loud.
